Two companies are know to have traded with this name in the U.S.A

  1. The Thermo Engine Co of Chicago, Illinois.
  2. Thermo Engine Co of Waukee, Iowa.


The Thermo Engine Co of Chicago Sold a small model engine, with link work similar to Heinrici. Little is known of this company, the models have a plate stating the design was patented.
There are two variations of the engine, one has cast and machined parts, and a later one with preesed steel parts in place of the cast parts [probably a cost cutting move]. Models are either black or green.

Thermo Fan









Thermo Engine Co of Waukee, Iowa. Sold the New Thermo Fan for $10

The manufacturers claimed the fan would run on less than one once of alcohol per hour, costing less than a quarter cent per hour.
Dimensions : overall height 21 inches; weight 8 pounds; 14 inch fan blades (nickel or brass). The blades blew the air across the moving parts to keep the mechanism cool.
